Alona is a Registered Dietitian with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UC Berkeley and a Master’s Degree in Nutrition from California State University, Los Angeles. She understands the relationship of the body to food and helps explain which foods prevent disease, assist with a healthy weight and slow down the aging process. Alona has over seven years of experience with nutritional research at UCLA and nearly a decade of clinical experience in creating diets for people at risk for or struggling with a variety of health issues including:

  • Diabetes

  • High blood pressure

  • Cholesterol

  • IBD (digestive disorders

  • Food intolerance and food aversion

  • Kidney Disease

  • Cancer

  • Weight management, weight loss and weight gain

  • Emotional eating and eating disorders

  • Bariatric procedures (e.g. gastric sleeve and bypass, lap­band)

Passionate about helping clients choose the right foods and make the eating experience fun and simple, Alona guides clients in “eating to live and not living to eat.”

As each patient is unique and requires different specifications and needs, Alona provides meal plans that are uniquely tailored for each individual and includes simple, easy­to­prepare recipes. She also takes clients on private “Super Market Tours,” helping them sort through the commercialized confusion of products and select the most nutritious foods that cater to their specific health goals. Alona is sensitive to how a person learns about nutritional information and has had extensive experience in explaining abstract nutritional guidelines in simple terms.
