Sometimes You Hit the Wall. And Then… You Don’t Stay There.

My workout calendar had begun to look like this:
Wednesday – day before holiday grind
Thursday – holiday, do yoga instead
Friday – day after holiday break
Saturday – the busiest Saturday ever
Sunday – recover from Saturday
Monday – I don’t want to
Tuesday – “Girl, get your ass out of bed and get to your workout…”

And somewhere between Sunday’s exhaustion and Monday’s resistance, I had to pause and really look at the pattern forming in front of me.

Not with judgment. Not with shame. Just with honesty.

Because it would have been easy to keep going. To let one missed day become two. Two turn into a week. A week turns into “I’ll start again next month.” I’ve been there before — we all have. The slow fade. The quiet slipping. The internal permission to stop trying, masked as “listening to my body.”

But this time, I asked myself a different question:

Is this really where I want to stop?

Not “Is this hard?”
Not “Am I tired?”
Not “Do I feel like it today?”

Just: Is this the version of me I’m choosing to settle into?

And the answer was simple. Clear. Grounded.

No.

So Tuesday morning came, and I didn’t wait for motivation. I didn’t negotiate with comfort. I didn’t pretend it would magically feel easier if I laid there a little longer.

I just got up.

That’s the part we don’t talk about enough. The unglamorous, unfiltered truth: getting back into it isn’t about some big, life-altering epiphany. It’s about one small, stubborn, self-respecting decision repeated again and again.

You’re allowed to rest.
You’re allowed to pause.
You’re allowed to soften.

But you are also allowed to get back up.

And sometimes the most powerful thing you can do for yourself is to stop asking how you feel and start honoring who you said you wanted to become.

That version of you?
She doesn’t always feel ready.
She just moves anyway.

And if you’re in a wall moment — mentally, physically, emotionally — let this be your nudge. Not to do more. Not to do it perfectly.

Just to take the next intentional step forward.

One more breath.
One more rep.
One more choice for yourself.

You don’t stop here.

You get back to it.
